Why NAAVAA was established?
While the school’s academic strength is increasing day by day, over the years the students who graduated from the school with flying colors have struggled throughout their higher education due to economic hardships and lack of continued supportive environment. The economically middle and lower class students of the school are not able to cope up with the stress and the cost of the education from intermediate onwards and the sudden change in the life style from a residential school to open environment. There are many examples of such students who grabbed or who just missed state ranks in tenth class but could not complete even intermediate education due to their poverty or settled in “less challenging - compared to – their potential” jobs.
Hearing stories after stories of such students few students graduated from the school had taken initiatives in gathering few likeminded old students and founded “Alumni Association” (Regd. No: 2619/2001) in the year 2001 which was registered under Andhra Pradesh Public Societies Registration Act, 1350 Fasli (Act 1 of 1350F). The association started making frequent visits to the school every year since 2001 and has been providing “Bi-Annual Free Medical Camps, Career Guidance, Economic Support for higher education, Appointment of teachers on ad-hoc basis in the vacant posts and establishing a continuous capacity building sessions like training in painting, stress releasing sessions etc”.
The association has grown in number and quality in the past few years which now comprises of around 1500 members in it. As the association grew, we decided to incorporate professionalism in the association and made it into an organization. As first step towards this we reregistered the association in the year 2007 as “Nāgarjuna Vidhyashramamu Alumni Association” in short “NAAVAA” (Regd. No. 1101/2007).
