SMRUTHI (Dwi Dashabdi Utsav)
What is SMRUTI? During the 7th Medical Camp in school in internal interactions within NAAVAA all of the group members in the meeting have shown excitement about conducting a big gathering of the students when it was found to be 20th year of school functioning. Immediately the core group of NAAVAA held discussions with the Convenor and decided to conduct a large scale get together in Nagarjuna Sagar in the school premises instead of Annual Meeting in Hyderabad. Discussions were held in meeting after meeting over a period of 3 months towards preparation for the event which was one of its kind in residential school system. More than 20 old students have dedicated their time and services for nearly 2 months which resulted in a get together event for which the members have given a title as “SMRUTI – Dwi Dashabdi Utsav”. This reflected the feelings of most of the alumni members who were visiting the school for the first time after they left the school and met most of their friends, seniors, juniors and teachers after a long gap. The meeting also brought nostalgic moments to all the participating students and teachers.
SMRUTHI-Dwi Dashabdi Utsav – Dec 16th 2007: The SMRUTHI-Dwi Dashabdi Utsav was held in a grand ceremonious way on December 16th, 2007 in the school premises with the participation of all the current students, nearly 500 old students and approximately 200 current and ex-teaching and non-teaching staff. • Foundation stone for KRC was inaugurated by Ms. Sunitha, IAS, B.C. Welfare Director. • Ms. Sunitha inaugurated the SMRUTHI-Dwi Dashabdi Utsav. • Felicitation of nearly 200 current and ex-teaching and non-teaching staff was conducted. • Experience sharing among teachers and students was followed by the program. • Photo session was held where batch wise photos with teachers and students together was performed. • School day function followed after SMRUTHI celebrations.
SMRUTHI to Silver Jubilee Celebrations: With the success of SMRUTHI the enthusiasm and confidence among the NAAVAAites was grown enormously to conduct the silver jubilee celebrations on the occasion of completion of 25 years from the inception of the school. With long term determination of the NAAVAA board members and few consistent supporters among the members of NAAVAA and with a painstaking efforts combined with structured planning and execution the most awaited silver jubilee celebrations was held in a festive mood. There were series of meetings held at regular intervals participated by numerous enthusiastic and responsible NAAVAA members in Hyderabad and in various district headquarters before making the final schedule. Attempts to meet District Collector of Nalgonda and other key decision makers were made number of times with persistent interest in getting the final sanction of Rajiv Vidya Mission building in the desired location in the school premises to harbour the Knowledge Resource Centre as thought through by the NAAVAAites.
